ANATOMY OF THE BRIDE: SMALL
BULLFLOWERS
An exhibition held in Australia in 1997 of braised metal structures which appropriated Cretan “Bullflowers”. Bullflowers are ancient decorative images which have only recently been understood of a bull’s head/Minotaur, and simultaneously the female genitals including the fallopian tubes. The wire structures were lit in such a way as to blur, confuse what is real and what is shadow, so that the 3D structures ended up looking like 2D drawing on a wall.
