L’ANATOMIE DE LA MARIEE
This exhibition was shown in Paris in 1994. The works consist of
large-scale photocopies of the frontispage of Giorgio Vasari’s 16th
century anatomy, where a female criminal is publicly anatomized in front
of an all-male audience. Each of the works are altered with paint and
drawing materials, in front of which is suspended a thin braised metal
grid reflecting the main lines taken from Vasari’s image. The works were
lit in such a way as to produce shadows which would confuse the space
between the drawn, the painted, the real. |
